Body scrubs are a great feature for your home spa moments. They help remove dead skin cells and therefore allow any moisturizer to absorb better. They also prevent ingrown hair and clean your pores.
Just be careful not to use them too often as you could damage your natural skin barrier consisting of oils that protect your skin from the outside environment.
I got one from Natura Siberica’s organic shop – mango & sugar.
Without further ado the best feature of this scrub is its amazing smell. As soon as you open the lid you’ll be hit with the smell of fresh fruit so sweet and intense you’ll be tempted to eat it. If you use it in the shower the hot damp air will even amplify the smell filling the room with fruity freshness.
The smell also lasts surprisingly long. After I finish showering I put on moisturizer that usually covers the smell but when I put some on to take these pictures during the day I just used a little of the product and I could smell it on my fingers for almost two hours.
The structure is not too dense, you can easily distribute the product on your whole body. It contains visible sugar crystals, I was a little afraid of these at first worrying they would clog the drain but then I noticed that after a while they dissolve in the water completely so no harm done. They feel very good on the skin, I love to use this scrub as a gentle massage tool.
The combination of the sugar crystals massaging your body and the intense smell is truly a spa worth experience, when I’m using it I feel like I’m in a tropic rainforest taking a shower surrounded by giant dark green leaves taking a bite of a ripe juicy mango. (a bit dramatic description but I swear it feels like it!)
This is what I mean!
It gives tropical (chefs kiss)
The only negative and really bothering feature about the scrub is the plastic container. The edges of the container and the lid are kind of sharp so you need to be a bit careful not to scratch yourself while opening it. The lid also gets slightly more difficult to open and close after a few uses because the scrub gets all over the container and the sugar prevents the lid from fitting into place and closing the container properly.
SUMMARY
So overall I would give this product 8/10, the two points taken for the container because it really spoils the pure joy of the product alone. The scrub lasted roughly four months of use which is great comparing it with the price of £4. But as I stated at the beginning I don’t use the scrub daily, usually once a week, sometimes more if I feel fancy, sometimes only once every two weeks especially in summer after spending time on the sun exposing my skin to harsh sunlight. I keep it as a special treat for the times I need something to bring me out of my head and more into my body to relax and let go of nagging or disturbing thoughts. In this aspect I would give the product a 10/10 because the smell is simply astronomical and always leaves me feeling good, also knowing my skin is getting proper treatment preventing ingrown hair and removing old layers of dead skin. I will definitely try other scents as well.
